How We Learn
In our class we use a collaborative approach. We view learning as reciprocal; students learn from teachers, and teachers learn from the fresh perspectives of their students.Discovering by Doing: our students engage in hands-on exploration.Practical Understanding: If we learn a mathematical concept, we apply it to a real-world building project or a budget.Applying New Concepts: We challenge our learners to take what they’ve mastered in the classroom and adapt it to unfamiliar, exciting situations.

Where Curiosity Meets Action
In our Year 5 and 6 composite class, we believe that learning is something we experience. Our environment is built on a foundation of safety and nurture, ensuring every student feels empowered to take risks, ask big questions, and show up with integrity every day.

Cultivating Future Leaders
Our goal is to foster a sense of well being and pride that extends far beyond the school gates. By working together in a composite setting, students develop mentorship skills, empathy, resilience and the ability to solve problems as a team.

Standing Tall with Confidence
In our Year 5 and 6 community, we believe that for a student to learn and be successful, they must first be firmly rooted in who they are. A central pillar of our learning journey is the intentional growth of cultural identity, with a deep reverence for the rich heritage of the Cook Island Culture and Peu Maori.
