ABOUT US

Kia Orana and welcome to Api'i Te Uki Ou.

We are a vibrant, nurturing learning community where tamariki are encouraged to learn, grow, make friends and have fun.

Located on the beachfront in the village of Ngatangiia, in Vaka Takitumu, Rarotonga - Te Uki Ou is an independent school operating in partnership with the Ministry of Education. Our funding model is a blend of government support and community contribution through fees and fundraising, reflecting the shared commitment of our families and wider community
in supporting quality education.

Our school goes from Preschool through to Junior Secondary (Year 9). We are proud to be a Cook Islands school with strong foundations in Peu Māori (Cook Island custom and culture), values and community. Our special character is Inclusive Education.
Our arms are open wide to all learners, and we celebrate the richness of diversity within our school family. Our teaching and learning is guided by our Ministry of Education and aligned with New Zealand curriculum. Learning is delivered by a highly capable team of educators. Our teachers are New Zealand qualified, an aspect we work hard to maintain.
Alongside our teachers, our dedicated local teacher aides play a vital role in supporting inclusive education
and ensuring that all learners are supported to succeed.

Established in 1993 by a group of dedicated parents with a shared vision for excellence in education, our school continues to honour that original purpose - to provide an environment where every child is supported to reach their full potential academically, socially, emotionally and physically. Today, Te Uki Ou is a thriving and dynamic school community of over 240 students.
We are proud of our strong sense of identity, our culture of care and our ongoing commitment to continuous
improvement across all areas of school life.
We invite you to explore our website, connect with us on social media,
or get in touch to learn more about our school.

Kia Manuia (Best wishes or good luck)
