​Apii Te Uki Ou is a Ministry of Education and privately funded school located on the main island of Rarotonga.

It is located on the beachfront in the village of Ngatangiia.

​We are an independent school, offering quality Pre-school, Primary and Junior Secondary education.

We have mostly New Zealand Qualified educators yet have a distinctive Cook Islands feel. Our mission is to “provide an inclusive, nurturing environment that caters for individuals needs, challenging students to excel in a changing world.”

Our school was established in 1993 by a group of dedicated parents who shared a vision to create a school environment where every child had the opportunity to develop and grow to the very best of their ability; academically, socially and physically.

​Today Apii Te Uki Ou is a thriving, energetic school with over 256 students. Approximately 90% of our students are Cook Islanders, 7 % are New Zealanders, with the remaining 3% an exciting international mix that includes; Australian, French, Tongan, Filipino, Polish, Samoan, Niuean, Japanese, English, Spanish, Chilean, South African, African, Chinese and American.
